Giving To The Needy
1 "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
I have been meeting with minister's, and when we get to their finances, they talk about all the missionary work they do. They send missionaries everywhere in the world but none here at Home. Why! They have no budget to help the needy on their doorstep. Jesus said take care of your home first!! with no needs greater than anothers, Why are there homeless living on the street outside your church. I have seen churches turn away the needy, Why! are we better than them. Jesus said when a Man ask for your shirt, give him your jacket also. Why! do we limit on helping, GOD puts No limits, Help until needs are met.
